Whale Bench

Based on a 3D print by Lateral North, a whale bench was made for Dock Park, Dumfries. The bench recognises the Norwegian refugees who were billeted at Rosefield Mills during World War II and the long standing friendship between Dumfries and Norway

The 3D print was scaled up with some design adjustments to allow for an internal metal armature to support the cantilevered tail. Cast into glass fibre re-inforced concrete. L 2400 x W 580 x H 475mm.
